Burghley House and Gardens

England's greatest Elizabethan House, just a few minutes drive from the Farmhouse, the park is open to the public from dawn until dusk - admission to the grounds is free. The house itself and gardens are open from mid March until late October.

Rutland Water Country Park

Walking, cycling, fishing, sailing and watersports are all available at one of Europe's largest man made lakes. Twenty minutes by car and you can be walking or cycling the 25 mile circular trail around the reservoir, cafes and restaurants are located all around the water.


Tolethorpe, Stamford

The home of the Stamford Shakespeare Company with performances throughout the Summer months. Just five minutes drive from the Farmhouse.

Tallington Lakes

Holiday Park with watersports and an adventure centre just 15 minutes drive.


Stamford Lincolnshire

Just one mile from the Farmhouse, Stamford is the UK's prettiest Georgian town. The weekly market takes place on a Friday with a farmer's market adding to that every fortnight. The town also boasts a cinema, arts centre and theatre.

Oakham, Uppingham, Market Deeping

Plenty of pretty market towns are just a few miles drive from Stamford and although you don't need a car when staying at the Farmhouse, it would be a shame to miss this beautiful area.
